RapidDeploy Radius Mapping Demonstration/Discussion with the Central ESB Region
Tuesday, September 28, 2021
At the July 21st SECB NG 9-1-1 Committee meeting, RapidDeploy provided an overview of their RadiusPlus Mapping software application. Accurately determining the location of a 9-1-1 caller is an essential component of delivering emergency services to those in need. This software would provide PSAPs with access to a statewide 9-1-1 caller location mapping tool that leverages the data being collected through our NG 9-1-1 GIS project as well as other trusted sources. It also offers many features and integrations that are not available through the RapidSOS platform that is currently being used by many PSAPs in the region.
At the September 9th Central ESB NG 9-1-1 Committee meeting, RapidDeploy had the opportunity to provide a short preview of the RadiusPlus Mapping software functionality and there was enough interest to warrant a follow up meeting to learn more about the product and how it might be implemented.
ECN believes that this software provides a powerful tool for PSAPs to leverage advanced technology to identify the location of 9-1-1 callers and we would be like to hear your thoughts on how this product might improve the delivery of emergency services within your jurisdiction. Please join us on the 28th as we take a deeper dive into the software’s capabilities and discuss potential ‘next steps’ in regard to individual PSAPs within the region participating in a “pilot project” to vet this software solution.
If any of the PSAPs within the region do express an interest in participating in the “pilot project”, DPS-ECN is willing to fund the purchase and installation of this software at no cost. If, at the conclusion of the “pilot project” period, the participating PSAPs have a continued interest in using this software, DPS-ECN is committed to funding the ongoing sustainment costs.
The PSAPs in your region were selected by DPS-ECN as potential “pilot project” locations because of your willingness to embrace new technology, the spirit of collaboration between members, and your capacity to support projects of this nature.
