Promote the exchange of information, experience and concepts among public safety communications users from diverse agencies, services and backgrounds, related to public safety interoperable communications.
Encourage planning and decisions leading to greater levels of communication among member and partner agencies and jurisdictions.
Promote the cooperation and sharing of resources among the members.
Advise the Northeast Minnesota Emergency Communications Board (“the Board”) on matters of policies and procedures to promote reliable communications throughout the region.
Develop and recommend minimum training standards for users and trainers to the Board for their approval.
Develop and recommend minimum equipment specifications to the Board for their approval.
Each member of the JPO is able to appoint up to 5 members within their jurisdiction representing diverse disciplines (up to two per discipline).The users are operational-level public safety practitioners.
